from the 19th century our home was originally a winemaker's house and workshops.
Our
house (Maison les Hirondelles) has
been sympathetically converted into self contained
apartments. Wherever
possible the original character of the house has been retained
with features
including moulded plasterwork, marble fireplaces and ornate tiled
floors.
The
apartments available range from a 1 bedroom apartment suitable for 1 or
2 people,
to a 3 bedroom apartment which has a full bathroom and also a separate en-suite
and can accommodate 6 +.
Open
all year, long winter/spring lets, weekend/short breaks, househunting
forays as
well as summer sun worshipping are all welcome. If looking for a few
days only, Tony
and Marian also offer B&B.
Communal
facilities include a large sunny terrace (containing a bbq, dining
tables and
chairs and sunloungers) and a recreation room with house computer. WIFI
is installed in the house for highspeed broadband access to the
internet.
Location:
Ideally placed in the
Herault region for sampling the full range of holiday activities available.
Just 20mins from the Mediterranean coast with stunning ports, seafood restaurants,
bars and superb sandy beaches. 10 kms north of Beziers and 30mins from
beautiful mountains and national park, the area offers excellent safe
beach bathing,
walking, fishing, river swimming, canoeing, restaurants, seafood, wine,
historic
attractions (many are steeped in Cathar legends). There are numerous markets
offering a range of fresh local produce, fish and seafood, cheeses, antiques
etc etc....
The
house is situated
in a small traditional winemaking village that has managed to retain
its
character
despite the influx of tourism in other areas. With over 300 days of sunshine,
the best temperatures in France and a largely undiscovered countryside, why
not either fly (budget flights available) or drive (and take back more
wine) and sample
what the region has to offer?
